Notre Dame vs. Georgetown, 02/27/2012 19:00 EDT, Score: 41 - 59
Point Spread: -6½/-102 Georgetown

Result: Win
I have no problem laying 6.5-points on Georgetown at home, even against a Notre Dame team that comes in having won 9 of their last 10. The Hoyas are an impressive 21-6 overall, but most importantly they are 14-1 at home. They are outscoring opponents by 18 ppg. In their last four home games they beat Villanova by 21, St John's by 10, South Florida by 30, and Connecticut by 14.
What I really like about Notre Dame is they just had their nine-game winning streak snapped at St John's, a game in which they were favored by 6.5-points. Teams get over confident when they go on long winning streaks, and once that first loss happens they tend to second guess themselves. I look Notre Dame to struggle to play their best game in this matchup. The Irish are just 1-11 ATS in road games after a game where they failed to cover the spread over the last 2 seasons.
At the same time, Notre Dame has had their struggles on the road. They come in averaging just 59.2 ppg on the road, well below their season average of 68 ppg. They have managed to win 5 road games, but most of those have been against the bottom half of the Big East. Earlier this year thya lost 55-71 at Cincinnati.
Georgetown's last game was that huge blowout win over Villanova at home. They are 14-2 ATS in their last 16 games following a SU win of more than 20 points, which turns to a perfect 8-0 ATS when its off a home blowout win by 20 points or more over the last 2 seasons. BET GEORGETOWN!
