Joe D'Amico's NCAAB Big 10 Game of the Month
Wisconsin vs. Michigan State,
02/16/2012 19:00 EDT,
Score: 55 - 69
Point Spread: -6/-105 Michigan State
Today's winner is Michigan State over Wisconsin. This is my Big 10 Game of the Month.
When these two teams met on January 3rd, it was just about the most-controversial ending to a college basketball game this season when referees took away an OT 3-pointer due to a disparity between a stadium clock and game clock with just two-tenths of a second left in the game. Michigan State is 15-0 SU at home TY and come off of a huge win on Saturday as they beat Ohio State, snapping the Buckeyes 39 game home win streak. The Spartans are holding opponents to just 37.4% shooting from the field and have the 3rd best rebound margin in the nation at plus 10.2 a game. Draymond Green is a monster on the boards. The Forward has led the team in rebounding in 20 of the squads 25 contests this season. On top of all that, he is a mere 2 blocked shots and 1 steal away from being the 2nd and 5th all-time in those categories for MSU. The Badgers needed 26 points from Jordan Taylor just to keep in stride in the first meeting but were out-rebounded, 38-27. Wiscy failed to cover 3 of their L4 and 7 of their L11 overall while Michigan State has won and covered 3 in a row and 5 of their L6 outings. The home team is 11-4 ATS the L15 meetings. The Badgers are 1-5 ATS the L6 games played at the Spartans and the Spartans are 6-0 ATS their L6 games played at home. Take Michigan State. Thank you.
