Tonight's winner is Harvard over Connecticut. This is my NCAAB 92% Angle Play.
These two teams were on a direct course to meet in the Bahamas during Thanksgiving, but Central Florida upset UCONN before they had a chance to face each other. At the present time, Harvard just may be the 2nd best team in all of New England, just behind Connecticut. They are nationally ranked for the first time in school history and have won 8 straight to begin their season. The Crimson have dominated on the defensive side of the court, holding 5 of their L8 opponents under 50 points, ranking 10th in the nation in scoring "D". The Tide come into this meeting full of confidence and bravado as they took care of both the Golden Knights and Florida State at Paradise Island. In the FSU victory, Harvard had no problem with the Seminole's defense-minded unit, winning by 5 while Connecticut had to fight tough to get a 2 point win in OT over the Florida State squad. Monster Forward, Keith Wright would be a star on any team in the nation. The 6'8'', 245 lb. big man is averaging 11.4 PPG, 6.8 RPG, has 12 blocks, and averages almost 26 minutes per game. Wright isn't alone either. He has help. The experienced and savvy back court of Rivard, McNally, and Curry will control the pace and the tempo, utilizing their array of scoring options. Rivard is phenomenal beyond the arc. Between the outside game, height and strength inside, experience, and the Crimsons Guards setting the pace, I see an upset in the making here. Amaker has Harvard already in mid-season form while Calhoun is playing it cool , maybe a little too cool depending too much on last year's achievement. The Huskies are 1-4 ATS their L5 games played against the Ivy League and 7-15 ATS their L22 games played as a favorite of .5-6 1/2. The Crimson are 4-0 ATS their L4 games played overall and 4-0 ATS their L4 non-Conference games. Take Harvard. Thank you.
