Today's winner is Kansas over Texas A&M. This is my 97% Situation Play.
The pre-season prognosticators touted these two Big 12 squads as 1-2 in the Conference. Now in mid-January, we can say that both Kansas and Texas A&M are going in opposite directions. UK has won or shared 7 straight league titles and this season is 6-0 to lead off their Conference play. In Big 12 play, A&M is 2-4, including an 0-3 road mark. The Aggies downfall is getting the ball in the hole. In their 4 Conference defeats, they posted a dismal 52, 50, 51, and 51, losing by an average of 15.5 PPG. Their inside game is anemic. Forwards Robertson is out and Middleton is doubtful. These Big Men constitute most of the squads presence down low. Even with them both in the lineup, they still would measure up to Kansas like a high-school team compares to an NBA team. UK Coach, Bill Self has the luxury of possessing powerful, huge athletes. Most-likely, 6'10'' Robinson is going to be the top Big Man prospect in the Big 12. At 6'3", Taylor and 7'0" Withey round out this outstanding front court. The Jayhawks are big, strong, smart, and deep. Center, Withey has 35 points and 27 boards just over his L3 games. The coaching staff can implement nap-time for his starters and still shellac A&M here. Remember that the analysts did say this Conference would be decided among these two teams, so Kansas will come into this matchup like it is the Big 12 Championship. The Jayhawks are 5-2 ATS their L7 games played against the Big 12 and 6-0 ATS their L6 games following an ATS loss. The Aggies are 2-5 ATS their L7 games played on the road and 1-5 ATS their L6 games following a SU win. Take Kansas Thank you.
