The Memphis Tigers are clearly the best team in Conference USA, but I'm not sure the Tigers are as good as many people believe they are.

Memphis likes to get out in transition and use their athleticism, but when they are forced to play in the half court the Tigers aren't particularly strong on offense.

If there is a team in the conference that is going to force them to play half court basketball it is UTEP.

Tim Floyd is the head coach for UTEP, and Floyd is known for his defensive prowess. Floyd's teams always slow the game down, and he knows they have to slow this one down to have any chance against a team with superior athleticism.

UTEP will be using up the shot clock and clamping down on defense here.

Memphis hasn’t had a lot of success against UTEP in the last few years. In fact, Memphis has been held to less than 60 points in two of the last four meetings between these teams.
