8* Monday NHL FLA/OTT
Florida vs. Ottawa,
01/21/2013 19:30 EDT,
Score: 0 - 4
Money Line: -138 Ottawa
The Ottawa Senators host the Florida Panthers on Monday. Ottawa is coming off a 4-1 win over Winnipeg, while Florida beat Carolina 5-1 in their opener.
Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson always seems to play at his best when the pressure is on. He’s proved that in the playoffs with both Colorado and Ottawa. There will be plenty of attention on him on this night, as there will certainly be a raucous crowd in Ottawa for the team’s home opener.
All eyes will be on the veteran goaltender as his eventual successor, Robin Lehner, will dress to back him up tonight. Anderson would love nothing more than a solid performance to solidify his starting gig, particularly with one of his former clubs coming to town.
Anderson is 7-0-1 with a career .932 save percentage against the Panthers.
The Panthers dropped three of four to the Senators last season, taking the loss in each of the first three meetings between the teams, including both meetings in Ottawa.
Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson recorded three goals and four assists for the Senators in Ottawa’s three wins against Florida last season.
The Panthers are 0-5 in their last five trips to Scotiabank Place. Take Ottawa.
