The Washington Redskins host the Seattle Seahawks in Wildcard playoff action on Sunday. Washington is coming off a 28-18 win over Dallas, while Seattle beat St. Louis a week ago, 20-13.
The dynamic rookie duo of Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris certainly make the Washington offense go, but quietly the team’s top wideout has been making a big impact.
The Redskins average five points per game more when Pierre Garcon plays than when he doesn’t. He’s averaged over five catches per game since returning to the lineup after the team’s Week 10 bye.
Russell Wilson has toyed with opposing pass rushes over the last several weeks, and he’ll face little pressure from a Redskins unit that still hasn’t recovered from the Week 2 loss of Brian Orakpo and Adam Carriker. Wilson has accounted for 20 total touchdowns compared to just three turnovers in the second half of the season.
Marshawn Lynch compiled 10 touchdowns over the final nine weeks of the season. He should find some success against a Redskins rush defense that has allowedan average of 134.3 yards on the ground over their last three home games.
The Seahawks have played over the total in each of their last four road games, and the Redskins have scored 30.0 points per game since their Week 10 bye. Take the OVER.
