East Carolina vs. Louisiana-Lafayette, 12/22/2012 12:00 EDT, Score: 34 - 43
Point Spread: -6/-115 Louisiana-Lafayette
Sportsbook: Intertops
Result: Win
Louisiana-Lafayette once more has a possibility at a 9th win after 3 successive victories to end the season. Mark Hudspeth’s Louisiana-Lafayette team tied a school record with nine wins last season, and is very explosive this year behind their running and passing QB. Sophomore QB Terrance Broadway, who transferred from Houston, has taken over and played extremely well. He’s completed 65.4% with 16 TDs and eight INTs plus ended the regular season as the team’s second-leading rusher (661 yards on 6.4 YPC with eight TDs).
The Rajin' Cajuns run a spread option offense that uses a lot of misdirection and pulling blockers. Guys like WR Harry Peoples (61rec, 774yds, and 5TDs) and running back Alonzo Harris (149car, 761yds, and 8TDs) have the ability to make things happen on offense. In several games this season East Carolina has blown coverage in the secondary and given up more big plays against the run. Therefore, do not be surprised if the Rajin' Cajuns have some opportunities to consistently move the football as they had Florida beat earlier this year. Louisiana-Lafayette won four of its last five games, scoring 31 or more points in each of the wins and I like them here today behind the home crowd.
