These two teams combined for 19 points in the first meeting in San Francisco back in Week 7 (13-6 49ers win). While we might see a few more points in the second meeting, I don't expect the total to see this game close to 40 points. There is simply too much at stake for these two dominant defenses to not show up with their best effort. For starters, the 49ers only lead the Seahawks by a 1.5 games in the NFC West. San Francisco is also fighting for a first round bye, while Seattle is trying to hold on to a Wild Card spot.

Both of these teams excel defensively in the red-zone as they rarely allow the opposing teams to score touchdowns. That was evident in the first meeting when the two teams combined for 4 field goals and one touchdown. Considering each team has an even better understanding for what their opponent is looking to do on offense, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we saw these two teams combined for less than 20 points again.
