Both of these two teams success stems from the play of their defenses. Boise State finished 9th in the nation in total defense (304.7 ypg) and 6th in scoring defense (14.9 ppg). While the offense showed flashes of previous years, it failed to deliver against their top competition. The Broncos four toughest games this season came against Michigan St, BYU, San Diego St and Nevada. They averaged a mere 16.5 ppg in those games with a 27-point performance against Nevada (not exactly a good defense) their highest mark out of those four. Washington's biggest struggle this season has been getting consistent play out of their offense. While I expect the Huskies to struggle to move the ball, I also look for them to give the Broncos offense a lot of trouble. The Huskies allowed just 23.8 ppg and 353 yards of total offense per game.
