4* SEC GAME OF THE WEEK: Ole Miss +6
This is not the same Rebels team from years past. Ole Miss put an end to their 16-game SEC losing streak with a 41-20 win over Auburn this past weekend and I really like their chances of pulling off the upset at Arkansas on Saturday.
Head coach Hugh Freeze has done a remarkable job of turning this program around in a hurry and I think it's only going to keep getting better.
Arkansas has got back on track with a couple of wins over Auburn and Kentucky. In that game against Auburn they only beat the Tigers by a final score of 24-7 despite Auburn turning the ball over six times. The fact that they did win those two games actually helps us out, as they should not be giving up more than a field goal in this one.
I believe the matchup on both sides of the ball favors the Rebels. Ole Miss has a couple of dangerous playmakers in quarterback Bo Wallace and running back Jeff Scott. Wallace is the key to the Rebels offense having a big day and he is line for some huge numbers against a Razorback defense that ranks 115th in pass defense, giving up nearly 305 ypg.
On the other side of the ball, I think Arkansas could actually have some trouble moving the ball against Rebel defense that has got better as the season goes on. Ole Miss has had their ups and downs against the run, but they held Alabama's high-powered rushing attack to just 128 yards. That's not what I'm focused on. Arkansas' offense is ran primarily through the passing game. Ole Miss has been good against the pass, allowing just 211 ypg, but they haven't allowed more than 191 yards over each of their last four games. BET THE REBELS!
