Going OVER the total here. Oh Verlander is on the hill, the Yankees are getting no-hit tonight. Yes Verlander is the reigning Cy Young and is off dominate performances over Oakland. But the A's are not the Yankees. Arod, Cano, Swisher, Granderson have not hit this series. Jeter is out. Take away Raul's HR and NY is lifeless. Enough of that. As great as Verlander is, the Yankees have hit him in the past. (6-4 3.94 ERA team 8-8 in 16 starts) A change of scenery is just what NY needs. The fact is that pretty much everyone has written this team off. They will put up at least 4 runs tonight. On the flip side is Phil Hughes. He has pitched better of late, but is still average at best on the road. (5-9 4.76 ERA team 6-10 in 16 starts) I think this total should be around 10 honestly. Over is 6-1-1 in Verlander's last 8 starts vs NYY. Over 10-3-2 ATS last 15 road playoff games. Hughes 9-4-1 over last 14 start overall. 5* OVER Yanks/Tigers
