The Red Sox are showing some great value as a small road favorite against the Twins. Boston has won the first two games of this series and four straight overall. The Red Sox are swinging the bats extremely well right now, averaging 5.3 runs over their last 7 games. Minnesota on the other hand has lost four straight and six of their last 8 overall.

Both teams send out a starter who has struggled of late, but I don't think there's any question that Boston has the better of the two in John Lackey, at least when it comes to previous performance against opponent. Lackey has allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his five starts vs the Twins. Minnesota's Pedro Hernandez has made two career starts against the Red Sox and both have been a complete disaster. He's allowed 14 runs on 19 hits in just six innings of work. He allowed 6 runs on 7 hits in just 2 innings of work against Boston earlier this month (5/8). Given how these two teams are playing right now, there's simply too much value to not place a small wager on Boston this afternoon. BET THE RED SOX!

5* Grizzlies/Spurs NBA Blue Chip Top Play: Spurs -4.5

The Spurs aren't getting the respect the deserve at home in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. San Antonio has won six straight at home over Memphis, including a 103-82 victory in the most recent meeting on 1/16. That win came without Manu Ginobili, which only makes me that much more confident that the Spurs will take care of business and cover this spread. There's no question the Grizzlies are a great defensive team, but the way you beat good defense is offensive execution. No team in the NBA executes better offensively than the Spurs. 5* Bulls/Heat Blue Chip Over/Under Top Play: OVER 182

After watching these two teams combine for just 153 points in Game 4, it would be easy to jump on the UNDER in Game 5. However, I expect a much higher scoring game tonight. The Bulls have been hit or miss all series. They shot just 25.7% from the field in Game 4 and got absolutely nothing out of Nate Robinson, who was 0 for 12 from the field. In each of the two previous games these two teams combined for at least 193 points. BET THE OVER!

This is simply too good of a price on the Rays at home with ace David Price on the mound. While Price hasn't been himself in 2013, he's shown signs of turning it around. He's got a 3.74 ERA over his last 3 starts. Price has had plenty of success against the Red Sox, posting a 2.99 ERA and 1.202 WHIP over 16 career starts. He's allowed just 6 earned runs in his last three starts vs Boston. BET THE RAYS!

Wednesday's MLB Free Pick: St Louis Cardinals -1.5 (+103)

The Cardinals are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now. They have won 11 of 13 overall and have completely dominated the first two games of their 4-game series with the Mets. New York on the other hand has lost 5 straight. The Mets offense is in a complete funk right now. They have scored 4 or fewer runs in 9 straight games. With St Louis sending out Shelby Miller, the Mets will be lucky to score 2 runs tonight. Miller is coming off a complete game shutout against a very good Rockies offense. He's now 5-2 with an impressive 1.58 ERA and 0.876 WHIP.

While the Mets offense figures to stay in their slump, the Cardinals should be able to pile on several runs against Shaun Marcum. In three starts this season, Marcum is 0-2 with a 8.31 ERA and 1.923 WHIP. Adding even more value here is the fact that Marcum is 1-3 with a 6.25 ERA in 7 career starts vs St Louis.

It's easy to see why the Cardinals are such massive money line favorites. Instead of laying heavy juice, I feel the better play is on the -1.5 run line. St Louis has won by 2+ runs in 4 of their last 5 games, while the Mets have lost by 2+ runs in 4 of their last 5. BET ST LOUIS -1.5!

Thursday's MLB Free Pick: Brewers/Pirates OVER 8

The first three games of this series have all been low-scoring. In each of those games we saw a total of 7.5 or lower and all three went UNDER. Despite the recent results, oddsmakers opened the total for Thursday's game at 8.5. It's since been bet down to 8 and I think it's time to jump all over it. The fact that oddsmakers set the total higher, has me thinking they are expecting an offensive outburst.

I would agree. The Brewers will send out Hiram Burgous, who was lit up for 12 runs (10 earned) on 11 hits in just three innings of work in his last start. He's clearly not going to come in with much confidence. The Pirates will counter with Francisco Liriano. In his first start of the season on Saturday, Liriano allowed just one run on six hits while striking out 9 against the Mets. However, he lasted just 5.3 innings and likely won't pitch deep in this game. You also have to remember that Liriano has a history of some pretty ugly starts. Both starters have the potential to give up 5+ runs in this game. Even if one starters pitches well, there's a good chance the other will make up the difference. BET THE OVER!

5* Pacers/Knicks NBA Blue Chip Top Play: Knicks -4.5

I'm confident the Knicks will come to play in Game 6. New York simply didn't shoot the ball well in the two games in Indiana (Below 36% each game). What impressed me is that both losses only came by 11 points. With the Knicks returning home, I expect to see their shooting percentage climb. It seems like forever ago, but the Knicks put up 105 points on 49.4% shooting in a 26-point blowout victory in Game 3. I don't know if it will be as big of a blowout in Game 6, but I like their chances of winning by double-digits. While the Pacers won Game 1 in New York, they have not played all that great overall on the road in the playoffs. BET THE KNICKS!

4* Tigers/Rangers MLB Diamond Winner: Tigers +106

I'll take my chances with Justin Verlander as an underdog. Verlander's 4-3 record is very misleading. He's got a 1.93 ERA and 1.208 WHIP over his 8 starts. That's more like a pitcher that should be 6-1. He's saved his best for the road, where he's 3-1 with a 1.08 ERA and 1.040 WHIP. Adding even more value here is the fact that Verlander is 8-3 with with a 2.50 ERA over 13 career starts against the Rangers. Yu Darvish has pitched extremely well so far this season, but he's got a 4.50 ERA over his last three starts and has allowed 7 runs on 10 hits and six walks in his last two starts vs the Tigers. Too much value here to pass up. BET THE TIGERS!

4* White Sox/Angels Over/Under Annihilator: UNDER 8

When you look at the starting pitching matchup of Jose Quintana and Jerome Williams, you don't exactly think pitchers duel. I believe it's created some solid value on the under. These two starters squared off Saturday in Chicago, where both pitched extremely well in a 3-2 Angels victory. It's not the first time these two starters have pitched well against the opposing team. Quintana has a 2.45 ERA in two career starts vs the Angels and Williams has a 2.75 ERA over three career starts vs the White Sox. In their five combined starts, neither pitcher has allowed more than two earned runs in an outing. BET THE UNDER!

5* Rays/Orioles MLB Blue Chip Top Play: Orioles -113

This is a good spot to fade the Rays. Tampa Bay is playing their first road game in nearly two weeks and are just 6-12 away from home on the season. Rays starter Jeremy Hellickson hasn't been himself in 2013. He's 1-2 with a 5.25 ERA over 8 starts and is 0-2 with a 5.48 ERA over four road starts. Most importantly here is the fact that the Rays are 0-4 as a team when Hellickson takes the mound on the road. Adding even more value is that Hellickson was torched for five runs on eight hits in his only start against the Orioles this season. BET BALTIMORE!

5* Eastern Conference Semifinals Game of the Month: Pacers -5

The home team has had control in this series and I fully expect the Pacers to come up with a big performance to close out the series tonight. Indiana is a perfect 5-0 at home in the playoffs and all five wins have come by double-digits. The Knicks were able to keep their hopes alive with a win in New York in Game 5, but their offense remained in a funk. Look for Indiana's defense to dominate this game. BET THE PACERS!
