NFL Preseason Betting Preview The Dallas Cowboys will play their first game in their $1.15 billion dollar stadium on Friday as they host the Tennessee Titans in a preseason matchup that can be seen on Fox television. It is likely to be a rare occasion where the stadium gets more of the publicity than the game. “I had heard everybody saying it’s big and da-da, da-da,” receiver Roy Williams. “Then (I) finally saw it with my own eyes and it’s the greatest thing on earth.” Dallas is a 3 point favorite with a total of 38 at Bookmaker. The Cowboys first string offense looked good last week before leaving and they should get more time this week. Quarterback Tony Romo was 4 for 6 including a TD pass to Jason Witten in the game against the Raiders. The Cowboys will have more of their starters in the game on Friday as cornerbacks Terence Newman and Mike Jenkins are both expected to play after missing last week. The Cowboys have a good first half quarterback rotation with Romo and Jon Kitna but in the second half they have rookies Stephen McGee and Rudy Carpenter The Titans have played two preseason games since they opened the preseason in the Hall of Fame game against Buffalo. They won that game and they also won last week against Tampa Bay. The Titans have a very solid quarterback rotation of Kerry Collins, Vince Young and Patrick Ramsey and backup quarterbacks matter in the NFL betting preseason. Last week Young played well, going 9 for 14 with 131 yards and a TD. Young could get some playing time with the starters on Friday. Young could be extra motivated since he is from Texas. “Any time I am going back to Texas is big for me,” Young said, “That is home. There is a lot of love down there, a lot of respect.” These teams have met a great deal in preseason history dating back to Tennessee’s days as the Houston Oilers. The Cowboys have a 20-13 edge with the last win coming before the 2004 season. Pick: Titans

Hall of Fame Game The 2009 NFL preseason begins on Sunday night in a nationally televised game on NBC as the Buffalo Bills face the Tennessee Titans in the Hall of Fame Game from Canton, Ohio. It will mark the debut of Terrell Owens for the Buffalo Bills. The Hall of Fame game odds have moved toward the Bills in this game, simply because Buffalo has been in training camp longer than Tennessee. The Titans should not be discounted though. They are the superior team and they have the better quarterback rotation. “We’re going to approach it like our first preseason game.” Tennessee Head coach Jeff Fisher said, “We’ll play everybody that’s capable of playing and some of the starters will play a little bit longer because of numbers. We’ll clearly be competitive throughout the game.” The Titans have Kerry Collins as the starter at quarterback, Vince Young as his backup and Patrick Ramsey. Rookie Alex Mortensen is the rookie who may get mop up duty. The Bills have Trent Edwards starting with Ryan Fitzpatrick as the backup. Matt Baker and Gibran Hamdan are competing for the third spot. Oftentimes preseason games are determined by the play of backup quarterbacks and Tennessee definitely has the edge. In the second half it could be Ramsey who determines the outcome of this game for the Titans. Here is a look at the NFL betting stats for Sunday’s game. The Bills are 5-3 ATS in their last eight preseason games. The Bills are 5-0 ATS in their last five preseason openers. Buffalo is 7-0 ATS in their last seven preseason games as an underdog. The Bills are 0-2 in the Hall of Fame game. They lost in 1989 to Washington and in 1974 to St. Louis. The Titans are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 preseason games as a favorite. Tennessee has played in the Hall of Fame Game twice and is 0-2 but both of those games were when they were the Houston Oilers. The Titans lead the preseason series against the Bills, winning 9 of the 12 games. Pick: Titans -2.5 4 out 5 stars

NFL Betting Preview
Pittsburgh Steelers (11-3) at Tennessee Titans (12-2)
Sunday, 1:00PM Eastern
Bookmaker.com betting line – Pittsburgh Steelers (-2), 34.5 O/U
The two best teams in the AFC square off this weekend in a huge battle for late season supremacy. The Steelers and the Titans will be battling for the right to earn home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Tennessee started the year 10-0 and has been considered the best team in the AFC all season. However, in the past few weeks the Steelers have come up with some impressive victories over Dallas and Baltimore. Pittsburgh late season surge has many of the experts thinking they could be the best in the AFC and they will get a chance to prove it this Sunday.
Tennessee suffered their 2nd loss of the season last week 13-12 from the Houston Texans. The Titans have not been playing as well in recent weeks as they did early in the year despite still having the best record in the NFL. Last week veteran QB Kerry Collins struggled going 15 for 33 with 181 yards, and 1 interception. Collins has done a good job all season and the Titans need him to bounce back or they could be in for another disappointing performance. Tennessee running back Chris Johnson has been the big success for the offense this season. Johnson has rushed for 1,159 yards and 8 touchdowns. When Tennessee establishes the running game, they are very tough to beat.
Pittsburgh has come on very strong in the final month of the season winning their last 5 games and now they have a chance to earn home field advantage. QB Ben Roethlisberger was plagued by interceptions earlier in the year, but has been stellar down the stretch. Big Ben has led the Steelers to two 4th quarter game winning drives in their last two games. However, the real success has been the play of the Pittsburgh defense. The Steelers defense ranks 1st in nearly every defensive category and they can wreak havoc on opposing offenses. Pittsburgh hopes their defense can control a Tennessee offense which struggled last week and earn a chance to wrap up the home field throughout the playoffs.
What to watch for…
The Titans running game will play a big role in their success in the match-up. If running back Chris Johnson can move the ball against the very tough Pittsburgh defense then Tennessee will have the opportunity to score just enough points. The Titans do not want the game to rest in the hands of Kerry Collins. Pittsburgh simply needs to hold onto the football and not allow any turnovers. The Steelers defense should allow the offense to score some points considering they will win the field position as they have all season, but if they can not hold onto the football they will have a tough time.
Betting Trends and Stats…
Pittsburgh has gone 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games on the road. The Steelers have found the under total in 5 of their last 8 games due to the performance of the defense. Tennessee is 11-2-1 this season against the spread and 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games. The Titans have split the over/under total this season going 7/7. Pittsburgh won the last meeting between these two teams 30-13 back in 2003.
Pick – Pittsburgh gets the job done again. Take Pittsburgh -2 3 out of 5 units

NFL Betting Preview SBG Global Opening Line: Titans - 11 , Total 44 The Tennessee Titans will try and rebound from their first loss of the season as they take on the winless Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. The Lions could become the first team in NFL history to go 0-16, a prospect that looks more realistic each week. “No one is quitting, but we don’t know how to win,” said Lions defensive tackle Shaun Cody. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Lions at Home. The Titans suffered their first loss of the season last week to the New York Jets 34-13 in a game they were totally outplayed in. The Titans still hold a three game lead in their division over Indianapolis and a two game lead over the rest of the AFC for home field advantage in the playoffs. “We are still in the driver’s seat, and everybody else is playing catch-up,” linebacker Keith Bulluck said. Detroit has rarely come close to victory this season and may have a tough time on Thursday against the Titans. They are 3-6 all-time against Tennessee. The Titans should be able to run the ball against a Detroit defense that is the worst in the NFL, allowing 166.7 yards per game. Chris Johnson is the AFC’s second leading rusher with 833 yards. The Lions are 33-33-2 all-time on Thanksgiving Day. They have lost their last four games on Thanksgiving, getting outscored by a margin of 132-52. Here are more NFL betting stats for Thursday’s game. The Titans are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Titans are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 road games. The Titans are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in November. The Lions are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games in November. The Lions are 5-14 ATS in their last 19 games overall. The Lions are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Thursday games. NFL Betting Preview SBG Global Opening Line: Titans - 5.5 , Total 41 The undefeated Tennessee Titans get their next test on the way to a possible perfect season as Brett Favre and the New York Jets visit on Sunday. The Titans are looking to become only the 13th team in NFL history to begin a season 11-0. To do so they will have to slow down Favre and the Jets. “I think it’s a measuring stick for us to find out who we are and what we’re capable of doing,” said Favre. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Titans at Home. The Jets have been getting excellent play of late out of Favre who has completed almost 77 percent of his passes the last two weeks. “You can never afford to take a deep breath as long as Brett Favre is on the opposite sideline, that’s just how he is,” Titans coach Jeff Fisher said. “You can get up by 45 and he’ll come back and beat you by seven, that’s just the way Brett’s been throughout his career. Not that I’m saying we’re going to get up by 45.” The Jets also have a solid running game led by Thomas Jones who leads the AFC in rushing with 854 yards. The Jets should get tested this week by a Tennessee defense that has given up the fewest points in the league. The Titans have been winning lately on the arm of Kerry Collins. He has thrown for 519 yards with five touchdowns and one interception in wins over the Bears and Jaguars. “I think he’s doing a great job,” Favre said. “I can remember playing against Kerry in the championship game in ‘96, I think, and here we are facing off again. … I give him a lot of credit.” Last year Tennessee defeated the Jets by a score of 10-6. Here are more NFL betting stats for Sunday’s game. The Jets are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games in November. The Jets are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games. The Jets are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Jets are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between the two teams. The road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings The Titans are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 vs. the AFC. The Titans are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Titans are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. Green Bay Packers (4-3) at Tennessee Titans (7-0)
Sunday, 1:00 pm Eastern – FOX
The Tennessee Titans look to remain unbeaten as they host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Titans are coming off their biggest win of the season, a 31-21 win over Indianapolis on Monday. “We can’t be happy,” quarterback Kerry Collins said, “We’ve got to put this game behind us and focus on the next game. I think that’s what allowed us to put this streak together is the fact that regardless of what happened the week before, we are able to put it behind us and move on to the next opponent.” SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Titans at Home.
Tennessee could have a field day on the ground against the Packers on Sunday. Green Bay is allowing 141.9 yards per game on the ground while the Titans are averaging 145 rushing yards per game. Chris Johnson and LenDale White have combined for 14 touchdowns this season. On the other side of the ball the Packers could have trouble moving the ball against the NFL’s best scoring defense. “Each week every team gets an opportunity to go out and play. We’ve had seven opportunities and won each of our games,” Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck said. “No one expects us to have an undefeated season, and that’s great, but we know every time we step on that field we have a shot to beat anyone we play.” The Packers have gotten excellent play out of quarterback Aaron Rodgers who is playing at a Pro Bowl level so the Titans defense may get tested on Sunday.
The last time these teams met was in 2004 at Green Bay as the Titans won 48-27. Here are the NFL betting stats for Sunday’s game. The Packers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in November. The Packers are 11-3-1 ATS in their last 15 road games. The Packers are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 games overall.
The Titans are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Titans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games.
SBG Global Current Line: Titans - 4.5 , Total 40.5
The Over is 11-1 in the Packers last 12 games on grass. The Over is 5-1 in the Packers last 6 games in November. The Over is 22-8-1 in the Packers last 31 games overall. The Over is 37-18-2 in the Packers last 57 road games. The Over is 4-1 in the Titans last 5 games overall. The Over is 7-2-1 in the Titans last 10 games in November. NFL Betting Preview SBG Global Opening Line: Titans - 3 , Total 42 The unbeaten Tennessee Titans face their stiffest test of the season on Monday night as they host the Indianapolis Colts. The Titans are perfect on the season but their schedule has been fairly easy so far. “A lot of people still don’t respect us and feel like we haven’t played top-notch talent in the league yet,” safety Chris Hope said. “They’re still not sure about how good we are, and what better way to show them than on Monday Night Football against Peyton Manning and the Colts, one of the premier teams in the league.” SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Titans at Home. The Colts are in desperate need of a win on Monday to avoid falling below .500 and out of the AFC South race. They were routed last week at Green Bay 34-14 and if they don’t play better could face a similar fate on Monday. “I can’t really give you one, simple answer, try to summarize what’s going on,” said quarterback Peyton Manning, “We just need to play better, I need to play better and find a way to get into the end zone. Our offense needs to try to get the lead to help our defense out a little bit. We didn’t do our job.” The defense has been a mess without safety Bob Sanders who has not played since hurting his ankle in Week 2. They are giving up 153.5 yards per game on the ground and that could be a major problem against a Tennessee team that is 4th in the league in rushing. Indianapolis and Tennessee split their two meetings last season with the road team winning each time. Here are more NFL betting stats for Monday’s game. The Colts are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 Monday games. The Colts are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games in October. The Colts are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 vs. the AFC South. The Colts are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings between the two teams. The Titans are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games on grass. The Titans are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. the AFC South. The Over is 4-1 in the Colts last 5 vs. the AFC South. The Under is 6-2 in the Titans last 8 vs. the AFC. The Over is 21-10-1 in the Titans last 32 games in October. The unbeaten Tennessee Titans host the Minnesota Vikings in what should be an entertaining game on Sunday. The Vikings have the exciting Adrian Peterson while the Titans have a tough defense and an efficient offense. The Titans will be trying for their best start in franchise history. They are 3-0 for only the third time and the first since 1999, the year they went to the Super Bowl. The Titans are two games up on Indianapolis in the AFC South.
“It’s still so early,” said head coach Jeff Fisher, “What we’re trying to do is just build wins, just trying to win the next one. Six, seven weeks from now, we can start talking on those lines.”
SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Titans at Home.
The Titans boast a defense that has allowed less than 10 points per game.
“It’s still young in the season. It’s just the first quarter,” Titans linebacker David Thornton said. “If we go out and lay eggs in the second, third and fourth part of the season, this strong start can really be in vain. It’s not how you start. It’s how you finish, and we must continue to persevere for the duration of the season.” The Titans also have an offense led by rookie Chris Johnson who leads the AFC in rushing with 276 yards.
The Vikings have won the last four meetings with the Titans. Here are more NFL betting stats for Sunday’s game. The Vikings are 4-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The Vikings are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Vikings are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games in Week 4.

NFL Preseason Betting Preview SBG Global Opening Line: Titans - 4.5 , Total 34 The Tennessee Titans host the Oakland Raiders in a preseason game on Friday that will be broadcast on FOX television. This will be the 10th time the Raiders and Titans have met in the preseason with the Raiders holding the 5-4 edge. The teams have met a lot in the regular season with the Raiders holding a 23-18 advantage over the Titans. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Raiders on the Road. The Raiders got a nice win last week in the preseason as they defeated the San Francisco 49ers 18-6. The defense and special teams were excellent for Oakland as the special teams scored a punt return touchdown while the defense forced four turnovers. Running back Michael Bush was impressive for the Raiders in his first action while first round pick Darren McFadden also played well, rushing 12 times for 48 yards. The Titans opened the preseason last week as they routed the hapless St. Louis Rams by a score of 34-13. The offense racked up 495 yards, 340 of which came on the ground. First round draft pick Chris Johnson was very impressive as he rushed for 77 yards including a 66 yard TD run. Tennessee is very excited about their first round draft pick. “When he gets the ball in his hands in the open field, I think there’s always a chance,” Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said. It is also very possible that Johnson splits time this season with last year’s starting running back LenDale White. “Obviously, we’re going to have two players and as I look at it, it’s going to be LenDale and it’s going to be Chris. We’re going to change them out throughout the game and back them up.” Fisher said. SBG Global Current Line: Titans - 4 , Total 35 Friday’s game will feature the top quarterbacks selected in the 2006 and 2007 NFL Drafts. Vince Young was the third overall pick in 206 while Russell was the first pick in 2007. Last week in preseason action Young was only 3-6 but he did have an impressive 35 yard run. Russell played a quarter last week against the 49ers and was 2-5 for 13 yards. He is expected to play into the second quarter on Friday followed by quarterbacks Marques Tuiasosopo and Andrew Walter. The Titans quarterback rotation has Young going for about a quarter on Friday followed by Kerry Collins, Ingle Martin and possibly Paul Thompson. Taking a look at the NFL betting stats for this game we see that the Raiders have been an excellent under team in the preseason of late. They are 10-3 Under the total in their last 13 preseason games.
