The spotlight on Thursday night will be on the quarterback battle in Tampa Bay between Byron Leftwich and Luke McCown. Head coach Raheem Morris has not said which player will get the starting job but what is clear is that Thursday’s game could be the deciding factor.

Two teams battling for a playoff spot in the very competitive NFC South meet in Atlanta on Sunday as the Falcons host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both teams are coming off losses last week but each team can still make the playoffs. The Bucs are a game behind Carolina in the division and could clinch a playoff spot with a win against Atlanta and a loss by either Dallas or Philadelphia. The Falcons are a game back of the Bucs and they understand that a win against the Bucs is a necessity after losing last week to the Saints.

The Dallas Cowboys were thought of as Super Bowl contenders with Tony Romo at quarterback. Without him they may not even be a playoff team. The Cowboys will be without Romo until mid-November so it is up to backup quarterback Brad Johnson to lead the offense until Romo returns. The Cowboys were humiliated last week against the Rams and Johnson did not play well, throwing three interceptions. It may not get any easier for Johnson against a Tampa defense that is second in the league with 12 interceptions.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to add to the misery of the Seattle Seahawks season as they host them on Sunday night. The Seahawks have done very little right this season and will be missing quarterback Matt Hasselbeck again on Sunday. The Bucs are also missing their starting quarterback but Jeff Garcia was the starter last season and the Bucs didn’t miss a beat last week with Garcia at the helm.
