New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox Preview 4/13
One of the best rivalries in all of sports continues on Sunday night as the Boston Red Sox host the New York Yankees. The Yankees are schedule to throw Phil Hughes on Sunday while the Red Sox will counter with Daisuke Matsuzaka. Hughes has not started off well this season and will be under a lot of pressure on Sunday since he grew up as a Red Sox fan. Hughes couldn’t make it out of the fourth inning on Tuesday against Kansas City. Hughes has never faced Boston in his career.
Cleveland Cavaliers at Chicago Bulls Preview 4/11
The Cleveland Cavaliers come into Friday’s game trying to finish out the season strong and hold on to fourth place in the Eastern Conference while the Chicago Bulls are just playing out the string. The Cavaliers are coming off a nice comeback on Wednesday as they trailed New Jersey by 14 points in the third quarter before going on a big run that ended in a blowout win.
San Diego Padres at Los Angeles Dodgers Preview 4/11
The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers will meet in a series for the second time this season and Friday’s opener will be a rematch of last Saturday as Jake Peavy faces Brad Penny. Peavy has totally shut down the Dodgers in his career going 10-1 against them.
Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors Preview 4/10
Perhaps the biggest game of the NBA season so far takes place on Thursday night in Oakland as the Golden State Warriors host the Denver Nuggets. Both teams are tied for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference and the winner will take over sole possession of 8th place.
Los Angeles Lakers at Los Angeles Clippers Preview 4/10
The Los Angeles Lakers will look to complete a season sweep of the Clippers on Thursday. The Clippers have had a horrible season and are 13-27 in the arena they share with the Lakers. The Clippers have lost three straight and 11 of their last 13 at home.
Philadelphia Phillies at New York Mets 4/9 Preview
The Philadelphia Phillies definitely have the New York Mets number. They beat them for the ninth straight time on Tuesday but they may have lost National League MVP Jimmy Rollins for a while. He sprained his left ankle and his status for Wednesday’s game is uncertain. Philadelphia will be going with Kyle Kendrick on Wednesday while the Mets will go with Mike Pelfrey.
Boston Celtics at Washington Wizards Pick & Preview
The Washington Wizards are trying to improve their playoff positioning but may have a tough time doing so on Wednesday as they host the best team in the East, the Boston Celtics. The Wizards are currently in fifth place in the East and are trying to catch Cleveland for fourth place which would mean home court advantage in the first round.
Chicago White Sox at Detroit Tigers Pick and Preview
Two opening day starters will matchup in Detroit on Sunday night as Mark Buehrle and the Chicago White Sox face Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers. Buehrle did not pitch well in the opener as he allowed seven runs on seven hits in the second inning against Cleveland on Monday. Justin Verlander was a little better than Buehrle on opening day for the Tigers but he still didn’t pitch that well allowing four earned runs on four hits in six innings against Kansas City.
