Game of the Week: Mets at Phillies
This weekend is the 4th of July weekend and the sporting world has plenty of fireworks planned for the holiday. The game of the week is no different as it will focus on the FOX Saturday game of the week. This Saturday the New York Mets travel to Philadelphia to battle the Phillies and it will be aired on Fox.
Game of the Week for June 27th – Mets vs Yankees Pick
This week the Game of the Week pick will focus on Sunday night baseball on ESPN. ESPN will feature the subway series as the New York Yankees take on the New York Mets. This is a rematch of the series when the Yankees blasted Mets ace Johan Santana in a 15-0 blowout win. The Yankees took two out of three in that series but this series has a change of venue as the Yankees will be playing in Citi Field.
South Carolina at Vanderbilt Pick and Preview
South Carolina and Vanderbilt open up the SEC part of their schedules on Thursday as the Commodores host the Gamecocks on ESPN. Vanderbilt has had very little success in SEC openers in the past as they are just 4-21 in their last 25 conference openers.
North Carolina State at South Carolina Pick
South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier is not making any predictions about this year’s football team just yet. Last season the Gamecocks started 6-1 but collapsed down the stretch, losing their last five games and missing out on a bowl game. That has put the pressure squarely on Spurrier to produce this season. They open up the season with an interesting test as Tom O’Brien’s North Carolina State Wolfpack come to town.
Houston Texans at Dallas Cowboys Pick & Preview
The real Dallas Cowboys may finally make more than a token appearance on Friday night when they host the Houston Texans. The Cowboys haven’t played their starters much in the first two preseason games and lost to San Diego and to Denver. The starters will get a lot more action on Friday and the Cowboys are favored to get their first preseason win of the year.
San Antonio Spurs at Utah Jazz Pick and Preview
The best home team in the NBA, the Utah Jazz play host to the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night. The Spurs have won eight straight and are looking like a serious threat to defend their NBA title. San Antonio is just a half game back of New Orleans for the top spot in the Western Conference.
