Normally when the Penn State Nittany Lions and Michigan State Spartans meet in NCAA football betting action, it’s the Nittany Lions that are looking to wrap up a spot in the Rose Bowl or in the National Championship Game. This year, the roles are at least slightly reversed, as it is Michigan State that knows it at least has a chance to make it to Pasadena with a ‘W’.

The Michigan State Spartans appear to be a blessed team right now, and the only thing that might be standing between them and an undefeated regular season might just be this weekend’s college football betting battle against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The Michigan State Spartans don’t have that many more tests that they need to pass in order to finish the season undefeated. However, with a Top 10 ranking, they have a major bulls-eye on their back at this point. They could feel the effects of having that target in Evanston in college football betting action on Saturday afternoon against the Northwestern Wildcats.

It isn’t often that both the Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans are ranked in the Top 20 and talking about the Rose Bowl, but that’s the case going into Saturday afternoon’s top NCAA football betting affair in Ann Arbor. These two rivals will fight for first place in the Big Ten early on, while the loser knows that its hopes at the BCS and the Rose Bowl are probably finished.
