NFL Betting Preview
Green Bay Packers (5-9) at Chicago Bears (8-6)
Monday, 8:35 pm Eastern – ESPN

SBG Global Opening Line: Bears -  4.5 ,  Total  42

The Chicago Bears will be trying to keep their playoff hopes alive on Monday night as they host the Green Bay Packers. The Bears trail the Vikings by one game in the NFC North but they lose the tiebreaker against the Vikings, so Minnesota only needs to win either this week against Atlanta or next week against the New York Giants to clinch the division.  Chicago is also in the Wild Card race with Dallas, Tampa Bay, Atlanta and Philadelphia. The Bears should be motivated on Monday regardless of the situation since the Packers beat them like a drum last month in Green Bay.
SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Bears at Home.

The Bears may have been humiliated 37-3 against Green Bay last month but since that time Chicago has won three of their last four while the Packers have lost four in a row to fall out of the playoff race.  The Packers have blown fourth quarter leads in their last three losses and has given up 79 points in their last three games.

Chicago is coming off an overtime win over New Orleans last Thursday that kept their playoff hopes alive.  Chicago running back Matt Forte is expected to be ready on Monday after missing part of last week’s game with an injured toe. Forte needs 69 yards to break Anthony Thomas’ team rookie rushing record set in 2001.

Chicago has won six of the past nine games against Green Bay. The teams have split their last four games at Chicago.  Here are more NFL betting stats for Monday’s game. The Packers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. the NFC North.

The Packers are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games as a road underdog. The Packers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Packers are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 meetings in Chicago.

The Bears are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games in December. The Bears are 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 games as a home favorite.

SBG Global Current Line: Bears -  4 ,  Total  41

The Over is 6-1 in the Packers last 7 vs. the NFC North. The Over is 5-1-1 in the Packers last 7 games as a road underdog. The Over is 9-2-1 in the Packers last 12 road games. The Over is 22-8-1 in the Packers last 31 games overall. The Over is 7-3 in the Packers last 10 Monday games.

The Over is 17-4 in the Bears last 21 games as a home favorite. The Over is 28-11-1 in the Bears last 40 vs. the NFC. The Over is 9-4 in the Bears last 13 games in December.

Pick: Bears 4 out of 5 units

SBG Global Opening Line: Saints - 2.5 , Total 53.5

A high scoring shootout should be on tap Monday night on ESPN as the New Orleans Saints host the Green Bay Packers. Both teams come into the game at 5-5 but the game is far more critical to New Orleans since the Packers play in the weaker NFC North. “There is a sense of urgency that this game is important and it’s certainly important for Green Bay,” New Orleans coach Sean Payton said. “I think that after this game next week there’s going to be that same urgency because not only the division, but the rest of the NFC is playing pretty well.”
SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Titans at Home.

The Saints are 3-1 at home this season while the Packers are 2-3 on the road. The Packers are 14-6 all-time against New Orleans but they have lost two of the last three meetings. The Packers are coming off a great performance last week when they routed Chicago 37-3. The defense will be tested a lot more this week against a New Orleans offense that is averaging 416.9 yards and 29 TDs. “The Saints possess an excellent challenge for us,” Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy said. “They have the ability to attack you a lot of different ways. I think Drew Brees and Sean Payton are a very good match as far as the way Sean attacks a defense and Drew’s ability to run the wide-open offense.” On the other side of the ball the Packers can score as well with quarterback Aaron Rodgers who is averaging 235.1 passing yards per game.

Here are the NFL betting stats for Monday’s game. The Packers are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games in November. The Packers are 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 road games. The Packers are 19-8-2 ATS in their last 29 vs. the NFC. The Packers are 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 Monday games.

The Saints are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Saints are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Monday games. The Saints are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. the NFC.

SBG Global Current Line: Saints - 1 , Total 51.5

The Over is 8-1-1 in the Packers last 10 road games. The Over is 20-6-1 in the Packers last 27 games overall. The Over is 16-5-1 in the Packers last 22 vs. NFC. The Over is 8-1-1 in the Saints last 10 home games. The Over is 11-3-1 in the Saints last 15 games overall. The Over is 20-8-1 in the Saints last 29 vs. the NFC. The Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between the two teams.

NFL Betting Preview
Green Bay Packers (4-3) at Tennessee Titans (7-0)
Sunday, 1:00 pm Eastern – FOX

SBG Global Opening Line: Titans  -  4.5   ,  Total  42

The Tennessee Titans look to remain unbeaten as they host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.  The Titans are coming off their biggest win of the season, a 31-21 win over Indianapolis on Monday.  “We can’t be happy,” quarterback Kerry Collins said, “We’ve got to put this game behind us and focus on the next game. I think that’s what allowed us to put this streak together is the fact that regardless of what happened the week before, we are able to put it behind us and move on to the next opponent.” SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Titans at Home.

Tennessee could have a field day on the ground against the Packers on Sunday.  Green Bay is allowing 141.9 yards per game on the ground while the Titans are averaging 145 rushing yards per game.  Chris Johnson and LenDale White have combined for 14 touchdowns this season.  On the other side of the ball the Packers could have trouble moving the ball against the NFL’s best scoring defense. “Each week every team gets an opportunity to go out and play. We’ve had seven opportunities and won each of our games,” Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck said. “No one expects us to have an undefeated season, and that’s great, but we know every time we step on that field we have a shot to beat anyone we play.”  The Packers have gotten excellent play out of quarterback Aaron Rodgers who is playing at a Pro Bowl level so the Titans defense may get tested on Sunday.

The last time these teams met was in 2004 at Green Bay as the Titans won 48-27.  Here are the NFL betting stats for Sunday’s game.  The Packers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in November. The Packers are 11-3-1 ATS in their last 15 road games. The Packers are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 games overall.

The Titans are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Titans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games.

SBG Global Current Line: Titans  -  4.5   ,  Total  40.5

The Over is 11-1 in the Packers last 12 games on grass. The Over is 5-1 in the Packers last 6 games in November. The Over is 22-8-1 in the Packers last 31 games overall. NFL Betting Preview
Indianapolis Colts (3-2) at Green Bay Packers (3-3)
Sunday, 4:15 pm Eastern – CBS

SBG Global Opening Line: Packers - 1 , Total 47

The Indianapolis Colts finally looked like themselves last week as they routed the Baltimore Ravens 31-3. Peyton Manning looked like one of the best players in the league again, Marvin Harrison showed he can still play and the defense was superb. The question for the Colts will be whether or not they can continue that excellent play this week at Green Bay. Manning completed 19 of 28 passes for 271 yards and three touchdowns last week and was named the AFC offensive player of the week honors. “I guess in some ways, this really is like the first week of the season for me,” Manning said. “All I’ve ever known is taking every rep at every practice and playing in all the preseason games, so I did miss some time there and I’ve been working through that.” SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Colts on the Road.

The Packers have been up and down this season but their three losses are sure not quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ fault. He is playing hurt and he is playing well. “I think it’s a good message that he’s sending,” Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin said. “You view that quarterback position as a leadership position, and when your leader is maybe not 100 percent, yet he’s going out there and giving excellent effort and he’s playing well, performing well, that’s a plus.” Sunday’s game is a matchup of the passing game of the Colts led by Manning against a Green Bay defense that ranks 7th in the league. The Colts will probably have to throw more on Sunday since running back Joseph Addai is out with an injury.

Here is a look at the NFL betting stats for Sunday’s game. The Colts are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games in October. The Colts are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games in Week 7. The Colts are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games.

The Packers are 17-7-1 ATS in their last 25 games overall. The Packers are 1-4 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.

SBG Global Current Line: Colts - 1 , Total 47

The Over is 8-3 in the Colts last 11 games in Week 7. The Under is 7-3 in the Colts last 10 games on grass. The Over is 10-1 in the Packers last 11 games on grass. Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers
Sunday, 8:15 pm Eastern –  NBC

SBG Global Opening Line: Cowboys  -  3   ,  Total  51

The Sunday night game on NBC between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers is a rematch of last year’s game at Dallas when both teams were 10-1.  The Cowboys won that game 37-27 and ended up with home field advantage in the playoffs although it didn’t do them any good as they lost to the New York Giants.  This year’s game could be just as important in the long run as both teams come into the game unbeaten. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Cowboys on the Road.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been excellent so far this season taking over for Brett Favre.  He has completed 70 percent of his passes and has not thrown an interception. “He’s making good decisions and he’s being accurate with the football,” Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said. “He hasn’t taken many chances, and that’s all part of good quarterback play. He needs to continue to do that.” Dallas is running on all cylinders as well. They outscored the Eagles last week as Dallas quarterback Tony Romo played well again.  He has thrown for 632 yards and four touchdowns in two games.

The Cowboys have never won at Lambeau Field.  Dallas has three wins in Milwaukee but at Lambeau they are 0-5 including 41-20 in 2004, the last time the two teams met in Green Bay.  The Packers have won 10 of their last 11 home games and Dallas has won 11 of their last 12 road games.  Here are more NFL betting stats for Sunday’s game.  The Cowboys are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games in September. The Cowboys are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games when playing on Sunday following a Monday night game. The Cowboys are 1-4 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The Cowboys are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Cowboys are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 vs. the NFC. The favorite is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings between the two teams.

The Cowboys are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings.

The Packers are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games in September. The Packers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games. The Packers are 16-5-2 ATS in their last 23 vs. the NFC. The Packers are 19-7-2 ATS in their last 28 games overall. The home team is 7-0 ATS in the last 7 meetings between the two teams.

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers
Sunday, 7:00 pm Eastern – ESPN

SBG Global Opening Line: Packers  -  3   ,  Total  39

The Green Bay Packers will look decidedly different as they open up the 2008 regular season on Monday as long-time quarterback Brett Favre is gone and understudy Aaron Rodgers has the job.  Rodgers will get a real test of what it should be like as he opens up at home against NFC North rival Minnesota. It has been Favre at quarterback since 1992 so things will definitely be different on Monday. “It’s been a difficult time the last few months as far as the attention I’ve gotten, but I think I’m ready for it.” Rodgers said, “I know it’s going to be amped up once the season starts, I’m going to be scrutinized, but that’s the job of being an NFL quarterback.” SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Packers at Home.

Rodgers has a lot of weapons at his disposal.  Receivers Donald Driver and Greg Jennings had more than 900 yards last season and running back Ryan Grant finished the season spectacularly.  Green Bay also had a defense that was superb, allowing only 18.2 points per game last season, second in the NFC. “I think we’re going to be tough to run on, tough to pass on,” defensive tackle Ryan Pickett said. “I think we’ll be a top defense in the NFL.”

Minnesota also has a tough defense.  They were the best in the NFL last season against the run but struggled against the pass.  That may change this season since they signed pass rushing specialist Jared Allen.  The question for Minnesota is on offense where quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has yet to play well in the regular season.  The good news is that the Vikings have one of the best players in the NFL in running back Adrian Peterson who had 1,341 yards rushing while scoring 13 touchdowns last season.

SBG Global Current Line: Packers  -  2.5   ,  Total  38

Here are the NFL betting stats for Monday’s game.  The Vikings have lost the last four meeting against Green Bay. The Vikings are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in Week 1. The Vikings are 5-1-2 ATS in their last 8 games in September. The Vikings are 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 vs. NFC North. The Vikings are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 meetings in Green Bay. The Underdog is 16-5 ATS in the last 21 meetings between the two teams and the road team is 10-2 ATS in the last 12 meetings.

The Packers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games in September. The Packers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games. The Packers are 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 games overall. The Packers are 14-5-2 ATS in their last 21 vs. the NFC. The Packers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 vs. the NFC North. The Packers are 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 Monday games.

The Under is 4-0 in the Vikings last 4 Monday games. The Under is 5-1-1 in the Vikings last 7 games in September. The Under is 6-2-1 in the Vikings last 9 road games.

The Over is 5-0 in the Packers last 5 home games. The Under is 4-0 in the Packers last 4 games in Week 1. The Over is 8-0 in the Packers last 8 vs. the NFC. The Over is 5-1 in the Packers last 6 vs. the NFC North. The Over is 14-3 in the Packers last 17 games overall. The Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Green Bay.

NFL Preseason Betting Preview
Cincinnati Bengals at Green Bay Packers
Monday, 8:00 pm Eastern – ESPN

SBG Global Opening Line: Packers  - 3 ,  Total  36

The Brett Favre era at Green Bay is over and the Packers will start life without him on Monday as they host the Cincinnati Bengals in preseason action.  Favre was traded to the New York Jets late on Wednesday so the Packers spotlight now moves to quarterback Aaron Rodgers. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Bengals on the Road.

The Packers will probably have Rodgers playing a lot more than Cincinnati’s Carson Palmer. The starters for Cincinnati are expected to go a couple of series on Monday. “We’ll evaluate that and see. Generally they’ll go 10 or 15, somewhere between those number of snaps.” Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said, “But we’ll see how it goes.”  Lewis was looking forward to playing the Packers. “It’s going to be good and I told our team it’s a great atmosphere. It’s always great to go to Lambeau Field, but going into this deal with this weekend on Monday night and the whole thing they’re dealing with up there, obviously a lot of the questions this week as we meet with the network people are going to be about that.”  The Bengals have a new defensive coordinator in Mike Zimmer and he will look to get after Rodgers and the Green Bay offense immediately on Monday. Last year the Bengals were 27th in the league in yards, so they will be looking to make big improvements this season.

SBG Global Current Line: Packers  - 3 ,  Total  36

Here is a look at the NFL betting stats for Monday’s game.  The Packers and Bengals have met 15 times in preseason play.  The Bengals have a 10-4-1 edge in preseason action against the Packers and have won the last four meetings.  The teams have met only once in the preseason since 1991 as the Bengals won at home in 2006 by a score of 48-17.  At Green Bay the teams have split four preseason meetings.  The teams also played five games at Milwaukee and the teams split the matchups with one tie. The regular season series between the two teams is tied at 5-5.
