Auburn at Mississippi State Pick and Preview
Ninth-ranked Auburn begins the SEC part of their schedule on Saturday as they visit Mississippi State. Quarterback Chris Todd has won the quarterback job and the team seems confident in his performances.
Ohio State at USC Pick and Preview
The most anticipated game of the college football season takes place on Saturday as #1 USC hosts #5 Ohio State. Either USC or Ohio State has played for the national title in college football the last four seasons and the winner of this game will have the inside track this year. USC and Ohio State have not played in 18 years and both teams are looking forward to the game.
Georgia at South Carolina Pick and Preview
Georgia is no longer the #1 ranked team in the nation, despite winning their first two games by a combined score of 101-38. USC jumped over Georgia in the polls but the Bulldogs could easily surpass them in upcoming weeks considering they play in the tougher SEC. Georgia opens up SEC play on Saturday at South Carolina.
Kansas at South Florida Pick and Preview
It’s a battle of two Top 20 teams in college football on Friday as #18 South Florida hosts #13 Kansas. Both teams made a mark last season in college football and have carried that success over to the 2008 season. Quarterback Todd Reesing leads the Jayhawks while quarterback Matt Grothe leads the Bulls.
North Carolina at Rutgers Pick and Preview
Two teams looking for the national spotlight hook up on Thursday night as Rutgers hosts North Carolina. The Tar Heels are looking for a rebirth under head coach Butch Davis while Rutgers wants to stay on the national stage with head coach Greg Schiano. Davis and Schiano are good friends as Schiano was the defensive coordinator under Davis at Miami. The game is being played on September 11th in New York so there will be a moment of silence before the game.
Cincinnati at Oklahoma Pick and Preview
Two teams coming off blowout opening wins meet on Saturday as #4 Oklahoma hosts Cincinnati. The Sooners routed a hapless Chattanooga team 57-2 last week while the Bearcats routed Eastern Kentucky 40-7. Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns but only played into the second quarter before Oklahoma backups came in. Chris Brown had three rushing touchdowns and DeMarco Murray ran for 124 yards and two TDs. The Sooners defense was untouchable as the only Chattanooga score was on a safety.
Oregon State at Penn State Pick and Preview
Two teams going in opposite directions meet on Saturday as 19th ranked Penn State hosts Oregon State. The Nittany Lions routed Coastal Carolina last week while the Beavers were upset by Stanford. Penn State played very well last week against an overmatched Coastal Carolina club but this week they will get a much stiffer test from Oregon State.
