Favre played the 2008 season with the Jets when Eric Mangini was the coach. They started out 8-3 before losing four of its final five games to miss the playoffs.
New York (3-1 SU, 3-1 ATS) is red-hot this year after an ugly opening home loss to Baltimore. Coach Rex Ryan has the offense back on track with LaDainian Tomlinson running the ball and wide receiver Santonio Holmes coming back from his suspension this week.
Minnesota (1-2 SU, 1-2 ATS) is coming off a bye. They dropped their first two games versus New Orleans and Miami, before beating Detroit. Favre is struggling with a 60.4 quarterback rating and six picks. The Vikings are four-point underdogs.
Kansas City (3-0 SU, 3-0 ATS) is the only undefeated team in football and is coming off a bye-week. However, the schedule has been fairly easy and they get to prove they’re for real at Indianapolis as eight-point ‘dogs.
Indy (2-2 SU, 2-2 ATS) is in an early must-win situation after last week’s 31-28 loss at Jacksonville as seven-point favorites. The Colts’ offense ranks third in total yards per game (411) and second in points (29.3).
Tennessee (2-2 SU, 2-2 ATS) at Dallas (1-2 SU, 1-2 ATS) is a very interesting non-conference battle. The Titans have lost two home games, but won their only road one at the Giants (29-10). A lot of experts still think Dallas is an elite team despite their two losses. They get to prove it on Sunday as 6 ½-point ‘chalk.’
Note there’s no spread right now for Philadelphia (2-2 SU, 1-3 ATS) at San Francisco (0-4 SU, 2-2 ATS) on Sunday night. Philly quarterback Michael Vick is very doubtful with a rib cartilage injury. San Francisco coach Mike Singletary is on the hot seat with the unexpected slow start.
There’s also no spread for Chicago (3-1 SU, 2-2 ATS) at Carolina (0-4 SU, 1-3 ATS). Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler is questionable with a concussion suffered against the Giants. Carolina almost pulled of an upset at New Orleans last week (16-14), but coach John Fox is in for a long year.
