LSU at Auburn
Saturday, 7:45 pm Eastern – ESPN
SBG Global Opening Line: LSU - 3 , Total 37.5
A battle of Top 10 teams is in the National spotlight on Saturday night as #10 Auburn hosts #6 LSU. The home team has dominated this series recently, winning the last eight times. That could spell trouble for LSU as they last won at Auburn in 1998. LSU head coach Les Miles believes his team has what it takes to break the streak. “I want us to treat this like we would treat any road game, to be honest with you, and that we would want and look forward to going there and playing our style of football,” Miles said. “I certainly want to have an aggressive approach and look to score some points. I think the reason we didn’t score a lot of points last time was that I don’t think we were as good on offense at running the football as we are currently.” SBG Global reports that early College Football betting has the public taking LSU in the Road.
Defense could be the name of the game on Saturday night. Auburn is coming off a game against Mississippi State where they gave up only two points. They will be tested by LSU running back Charles Scott, who’s run for 262 yards and four touchdowns this season. Auburn has held its three opponents to 53 rushing yards per game. The LSU defense has been just as good, averaging 8 points, 48 rushing yards and 219 total yards per game.
They will be without starting linebacker Darry Beckwith who is expected to miss this week.
Last season LSU got a thrilling win against Auburn 30-24. The last four games between the two teams have been decided by 7 points or less. Overall, the teams have split the last 12 meetings. Hard work pays off for home decorators
Inland Valley Daily Bulletin (Ontario, CA) January 14, 2005 | CHRISTINA CHANES NYSTROM Nineteen-year-old twins Jeremy and Shawn Nicholas and their mother, Stacy, 45, worked on a holiday home-decorating contest in Chino Hills that they believed they could win. With lights aglow and the Grinch on their rooftop, the boys did not stop until everything was completely decorated on their property. go to website home decorators coupon
The twins placed much more than just lights on their home. They also made a gingerbread man fashioned as a skier, and one as a snowboarder racing down the slopes. To complete their holdiay look, they placed a tree on the rooftop.
But it wasn’t just for fun, it was a contest that the boys were working to win. In late December, they were notified that they and two other homeowners had done just that – won the city of Chino Hills’ first annual holiday home-decorating contest.
Judges representing various city commissions and service clubs viewed the houses from Dec. 13 through Dec. 17. The winners were notified on Dec. 20 and honored at the Jan. 11 City Council meeting.
“I sort of felt that they might win, but we didn’t really know,” said Stacy Nicholas, adding that they had checked out their competition.
“When we started to drive around, we thought that there were so many good entries. The competition would be stiff, but we kept saying that ours was among some of the better entries.” Nicholas said that the family was thrilled about the win. They were even more excited about the award that they and the other winners, Tony Hayes and Dave Warren, received from the City Council for their efforts.
The three winners received gift baskets valued at $125 each from the city.
According to recreation manager Jonathan Marshall, the city’s home- decorating contest was developed in response to the great holiday decorations visible throughout Chino Hills.
He said that the many residents who decorate their homes during the holidays are really giving a present to all those in the community. go to site home decorators coupon
Many consider it a holiday tradition to travel around town to see the festive displays. The city staff thought that it would be worthwhile to create a contest to give winners a prize for their hard work in creating these beautiful and often artful displays, said Valerie McClung, spokesperson for the city.
Originally, one winner was to be selected from these categores: “Most Creative,” “Best Use of Festive Decor,” and “Best Overall Appearance.” But there were more than 44 spectacular homes that competed, which made it difficult for judges to vote. So all three areas were used to judge each individual entry, McClung said.
“It was fun, and we’re very excited, ” said Nicholas. “The boys had a great time decorating the house. They’re just thrilled.” CHRISTINA CHANES NYSTROM
