The Brett Favre era at Green Bay is over and the Packers will start life without him on Monday as they host the Cincinnati Bengals in preseason action.  Favre was traded to the New York Jets late on Wednesday so the Packers spotlight now moves to quarterback Aaron Rodgers. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Bengals on the Road.

 

The Packers will probably have Rodgers playing a lot more than Cincinnati’s Carson Palmer. The starters for Cincinnati are expected to go a couple of series on Monday. “We’ll evaluate that and see. Generally they’ll go 10 or 15, somewhere between those number of snaps.” Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said, “But we’ll see how it goes.”  Lewis was looking forward to playing the Packers. “It’s going to be good and I told our team it’s a great atmosphere. It’s always great to go to Lambeau Field, but going into this deal with this weekend on Monday night and the whole thing they’re dealing with up there, obviously a lot of the questions this week as we meet with the network people are going to be about that.”  The Bengals have a new defensive coordinator in Mike Zimmer and he will look to get after Rodgers and the Green Bay offense immediately on Monday. Last year the Bengals were 27^th in the league in yards, so they will be looking to make big improvements this season.
