NCAA Football Betting Preview Betus.com betting line – Boise State -9 The 5th ranked Boise State Broncos attempt to continue their mark to perfection this weekend in a televised road trip to take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. The Broncos still have a manageable schedule throughout the rest of year and they will be able to grab an at large BCS Bowl bid if they can accomplish the task. However, the Golden Hurricane will be standing in the way this week led by G.J Kinne and a stout passing game. Tulsa led the nation in total offense averaging over 560 yards per game. While the offense has not produced those huge numbers, they are still a dangerous bunch and will try to overcome being 9 point underdogs and score a big win this Wednesday night. Boise State scored a big win earlier this season against Oregon that will definitely be a big plus if they are to run the table. However the Broncos are coming off a less than stellar effort against Division 2 opponent AC Davis in the 34-16 win. Still, the Broncos offense has been strong through out the entire season scoring 40 points per game and 439 total yards. QB Kellen Moore spreads the ball around well and limits his mistakes. Moore has thrown for 1,217 yards, 13 scores, and just 2 picks on the season. Wide out Austin Pettis and Titus Young are talented targets on the outside. Pettis leads the team with 6 touchdowns and 378 yards while Young has scored 4 additional touchdowns. Moore and the Broncos offense go to the air often with a lot of success. However, their running game is very solid for a spread offense. Running back Jeremy Avery is averaging 6.1 yards per carry and has produced 441 yards on the season. Avery has been stellar when touching the football and the Broncos have consistently got better efforts from the running game. Avery stepped in for D.J Harper who was very effective through the opening games, but suffered a season ending ACL injury. However, Avery has picked up the slack and given a new dimension to the Broncos offensive approach. The Golden Hurricane has an offense that can move the ball as well. If you do not know the name G.J Kinne, most chances are you will be the end of Wednesday night’s contest. Kinne has thrown 1,142 yards this season with 10 touchdowns and 2 picks. Due to the Golden Hurricane lack of big time running backs, Kinne has had to carry the load. The Golden Hurricane quarterback also leads the team in rushing with an additional 173 yards, but his arm will remain the big factor against Boise State. The Broncos are likely to score points meaning Tulsa will have to score their share as well putting some pressure on the young sophomore quarterback. Sophomore wide receiver Damaris Johnson leads the team with 20 receptions on the season and also leads the team in receiving yards with 329 total. The Golden Hurricane also like to get wide outs Slick Shelley and Trae Johnson involved as much as possible as well. Shelley has 214 yards this season while Johnson leads the team in receiving touchdowns with 5 on the season. The Golden Hurricane has averaged 32 points per game this year and that includes their shutout loss to Oklahoma. Expect some points to be scored when these two talented offenses meet, but will Tulsa have enough firepower to pull of the big upset? Pick – Broncos -9
