The Denver Nuggets will try and keep their red-hot offense going on Friday as they host the Los Angeles Clippers. Denver is coming off a 138-96 rout of the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday. Denver’s 138 points were the most scored in the NBA this season. Allen Iverson scored 31 points and Denver played a near perfect game. "It was fun to watch,'' Denver coach George Karl said, "It was fun to see everyone play well.'' SBG Global reports that early NBA betting has the public taking Clippers on the Road.

Seattle played no defense in the game and Denver just ran up and down the court, scoring at will. "I've been in the league 12 years and I've been playing a long time. I don't know if we've been this hot before, but it was pretty special,'' Iverson said. "It was fun.'' The Nuggets are a half game behind Golden State for eighth in the West. Kenyon Martin made 11 of 14 shots and scored 23 points in the Denver win on Wednesday. Carmelo Anthony added 16 points and was done early. "They know they are capable of doing this more often and probably need to do it more often,'' head coach George Karl said.

The Clippers are coming off another disappointing loss as they came back against Portland on Wednesday but lost. Jarrett Jack tied a season high with 21 points and the Blazers beat the Clippers 82-80. Corey Maggette scored 32 points for the Clippers, but missed a late shot that could have given Los Angeles the lead. "I kept telling our guys that our shots would come for us, and that we just had to play our way through it and keep playing hard,'' coach Mike Dunleavy said, "We had to be more aggressive in the third quarter, and we were. It got us back into the game to the point where we took the lead, and we had a chance to win it at the end.'' The problem for the Clippers was that they couldn’t score. “We defended well. I’ll take my chances any time you give up 82 points,” Dunleavy said, “It’s a little tough in this league without anybody with a low post game. We’ve virtually had no low post game match up to really go to and exploit. Having said that, we still had a chance.”

Things are going so badly for the Clippers that they waived point guard Sam Cassell on Thursday. He had missed the last four games with a straight right wrist. He has averaged 12.8 points, 4.7 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 25.7 minutes per game this season. “After weighing all of the options and after conversations with Sam we believe this is the best solution for this team,” said Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor. “We know and appreciate the many contributions Sam made during the last three years, and we wish him nothing but the best.”
