The key series in the American League this week continues on Tuesday night in New York as the Yankees host the Mariners. Seattle got a huge win on Monday against the Yankees to pull within one game of New York in the Wild Card Race. The Mariners beat Roger Clemens and New York 7-1 on Monday but things may be more difficult on Tuesday as they face the Yankees ace, Chien-Ming Wang. SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the favored Yankees at home.
Wang comes into the game at 16-6 for New York with an ERA of 3.79. In his last start against Boston, Wang held the Red Sox hitless for six innings before giving up a hit in the 7th. He has allowed just one earned run in his last 15 innings of work. In his only start against Seattle this season Wang was brilliant retiring 22 straight Mariners at one point.
Horacio Ramirez gets the nod for Seattle on Tuesday. Ramirez is pitching better of late but still has struggled overall on the season with an ERA of 6.55.
