Throughout the year bang the book.com will put out an article that covers some news, notes and angles in the baseball world to keep you on the cutting edge of betting information for the long season. In this edition of MLB notes the sports gets complete coverage on what has happened so far and what to look for in the upcoming months for the long season. With that being said let’s get started on this edition!
Don’t Panic and keep an eye on your calendar. It is still April folks and if you have already starting betting baseball don’t let what has happened so far influence your decision in the future. The perfect example is the Baltimore Orioles. They have come out of the gate and they are playing well and if you are a dog bettor than they have been an excellent investment. This does not mean they are a bet every time out, nor does it mean that they will win the east. Taking advantage of the way they are playing now is to the bettor’s advantage but don’t assume because they started out well they will be that well all year. Players fall into this position now as some players are hot out of the gate and have 3 wins, or 5 home runs, but this does not mean it will continue all year. Players like teams are streaky and getting on them the right time or taking advantage of them at the right time is the key.
Keep an eye on the sporting world. Unless you live under a rock you will notice as a sports bettor there is still plenty of other action going on in the NBA and in the NHL. Take note and if you bet either the NHL or the NBA this is a good time to focus on them and take a break from baseball. You can still stay informed but take a good break here. The reason being is that some time soon the baseball will be the only sport that you can wager on and you won’t have these other options so don’t get burned out too early in the season.
Watch out for the rut. Baseball more than any other sport is the easiest to get in a rut with when it comes to following teams or pitchers. When a sports bettor starts betting on baseball they will realize they like to bet on teams that have won them money in the past. They will also get in the same rut with pitching, especially if the pitcher is a diamond in the rough and not very well known like a rookie. If you bet on a pitcher like this and they win you money time and time again they do not become an automatic wager. It is best to revaluate the pitcher every time they start to see if you still have the same advantage that has paid off in the past. The money that has been won she be considered a great investment but once the oddsmakers are on to this pitcher the lines will adjust and the value will drop.
In this first article we covered how to avoid ruts, stay fresh in the sport of baseball and not to use the earl season as a gage for the entire season. These are the only tips that you can use to become a successful sports bettor but along with other tools, tips and trends they will lead to a great baseball season!
